Privacy notice — Investor Portal

This privacy notice (the "Notice") explains how we collect, process and protect your personal data when using EQT Investor Portal (the "Portal"). It also describes your rights and how to exercise them. It is important that you read this Notice before using the Portal.

We take measures in order to ensure that your personal data is protected and that our use of your personal data is in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations in addition to our internal guidelines and procedures.

Personal data means any information that can identify you directly or indirectly. Processing means all measures taken with personal data, such as collection, storage and sharing.

EQT AB ("EQT", "we", "us" or "our") is responsible (the data controller) for the processing of your personal data as described in this Notice.

From where do we collect personal data?

We collect personal data from:

  • Yourself when you use the Portal for example in order to manage technical support and questions that you may have or to analyse the use of the Portal (by collecting visit and click statistics), and
  • Members of the EQT group in order to provide the Portal, for example to set up your user account or to collect information on your commitments, which are shown in the Portal.

Why do we process you personal data?

Below we list the purposes for which we process your personal data in connection with the Portal. Provide the Portal

We use your personal data to provide the Portal for example to set up and administrate your user account and to provide access to the Portal as such.

Communicate regarding the Portal

We also use your personal data in order to communicate with you regarding the Portal, for example to send you notifications by e-mail, send messages through the Portal and to communicate with you regarding new updates to the Portal and service status.

Communicate regarding EQT and our activities

In addition, we use your personal data to communicate with you regarding EQT, our business and our activities, including offering opportunities to make investments in other funds or investment vehicles for example via e-mail or other digital channels that we use. You can always opt-out of receiving communications. This can be done by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the communication or by notifying us on the contact details outlined below.

Analyse the use of the Portal

We use your personal data to analyse the use of the Portal on an aggregated level, for example to collect click and visitor statistics in order to better understand how the Portal generally is used.

Manage technical support and questions

If you contact us with questions regarding the Portal or need technical support in relation to the Portal, we use your personal data in order to manage the support and your questions.

Develop and improve the Portal

If necessary, we use your personal data to develop and improve the Portal. This in order to tailor the Portal to user needs and to provide the best user experience possible.

Ensure technical functionality and security

The security and the functionality of the Portal is of course important to us. As such, we use your personal data to ensure the technical functionality and security of the Portal, for example to authenticate you when you access the Portal, security logging, to handle errors and bugs and to backup data.

Fulfil legal obligations

Manage and defend legal claims and rights

To which recipients do we share your personal data?

Service providers

We use various service providers in order to process personal data in connection with the Portal. These service providers provide for example IT services (e.g. storage), analytics and communication services (which enable us to send you messages). When the service providers process personal data on our behalf they act as data processors for us and we are responsible for the processing of your personal data. They may not use your personal data for their own purposes and are obligated under law and contract to protect your personal data.

Other recipients

In addition to the above, we may, where necessary, share your information with other recipients for the following purposes:

  • to manage a merger or sale of the business,
  • to manage and defend legal claims and rights,
  • to fulfil legal obligations,
  • to respond to a lawful request.

Examples of recipients are external advisors, public authorities, courts, the police, and potential buyers and sellers should we sell the business.

Where we process personal data

We always endeavour to process personal data within the EU. However, EQT's business is international and personal data is therefore in some cases shared with recipients outside the EU/EEA, e.g. service providers engaged by us.

Where we transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA, we will ensure that there are adequate safeguards in place to protect your personal data, for example data transfer agreements which include standard data protection clauses adopted by the EU Commission.

Your rights

You have certain rights under applicable data protection legislation in relation to the personal data collected about you.

You have the right to:

  • Request rectification of your personal data that is incorrect or incomplete.
  • Withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal data that is based on your consent.
  • Request erasure of your personal data in some circumstances, but not in cases where we, for example, are legally obligated to keep your personal data.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing communications by notifying us or clicking on an unsubscribe link in the communication.
  • Request restriction of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Object to the processing of your personal data that is based on our or another party's legitimate interest for reasons related to your specific situation.
  • Transfer your personal data (data portability) under certain circumstances by requesting a copy of your personal data that you have provided to us in a structured format that you can transfer to another recipient.
